Browning Launches Construction of Massive Industrial Park Velocity 65 Trade Center™

LOUISVILLE, KY. (July 20, 2016) — Browning Investments, LLC., has kicked-off construction of a new 721,050-square-foot warehouse in Velocity 65 Trade Center™, just south of Louisville. The building, known as Velocity 65 Trade Center™ Building 1, will join existing logistics powerhouse facilities currently in the area, such as Amazon, Best Buy, UPS and Gordon Foods distribution centers.

“Velocity 65 Trade Center™ continues our strategy of offering clients master planned park settings near Midwest logistics and cargo hubs.  We believe Shepherdsville is an excellent location for our investment to provide opportunities for companies to grow, adapt and invest in their logistics facilities with flexible, long term supply chain positions,” says Mark Susemichel, senior vice president with Browning.

Velocity 65 Trade Center™ Building 1 will sit on 41 acres just off I-65 at Cedar Grove Road (KY Highway 480 intersection) and Alpha Way, a new first-class road being constructed by the City of Shepherdsville, KY., and will be the only modern bulk warehouse facility in the greater Louisville metro market that can offer more than 650,000 square feet of contiguous space.

“Our facility is designed for best-in-class logistics and will represent a true omni-channel compliant facility,” said Dale Pfeifer, director of development with Browning Investments.  “eCommerce and logistics companies require flexible buildings and sites for intensive car and trailer parking amounts with secure, onsite circulation.”

In addition to featuring 36-foot clear-height, tilted concrete walls, LED lighting, a TPO energy-efficient roofing system, it also will include up to 466 car parking spaces, up to 139 trailer staging spaces and up to 169 potential docks.

“Velocity 65 Trade Center™ is responding to a huge influx in recent demand for building sizes over 600,000 square feet,” said Phil Charmoli, senior real estate advisor with Cushman and Wakefield of Kentucky. “Louisville is now on the radar screen for logistics requirements never before seen in its history.”
