We get excited when clients ask us to build them a corporate headquarters, but we also love it when they ask us to help build community.
Although construction for Indiana Biosciences Research Institute’s (IBRI) new corporate headquarters at 16 Tech is just getting started, we are happy to roll up our sleeves and apply their “Discovery with Purpose” motto to providing hungry Hoosiers with healthy foods to combat diabetes, metabolic disease and poor nutrition.
In honor of World Diabetes Day, 24 IBRI and 18 Browning employees volunteered at Gleaners Food Bank on November 11th. Throughout the morning our team sorted 10,275 pounds of food (the equivalent of 8,562 meals!) and made 1,000 holiday food boxes. Part of our efforts will also go into the 7,500 BackSacks Gleaners prepares every week so that at-risk children have meals on weekends.
Volunteering with Gleaners is a rewarding and fun corporate activity, and this isn’t our first (or last) outing – Browning manned a mobile food mobile in 2016, several of our employees regularly volunteer for Gleaners, and Jamie Browning of our development team is a past Board Chairman and still serves as Chairman of the Governance Committee.
