David Gabovitch serves as Principal and CFO where his responsibilities include cash flow and asset management, budgeting, tax planning and financial reporting for the corporation and related entities. David also oversees the Asset Management Division for Browning.
Prior to joining Browning Investments, Inc. in 1983, David was employed by the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young, where he served various types of clients including two insurance companies (one publically traded), a construction firm, a county hospital and several not-for-profit concerns on both an audit and tax basis. Maybe its years of dealing with the IRS that attracted him to the phrase, “Life is worth living as long as there’s a laugh in it.”
David is active in the community and is currently the Treasurer of the Indiana Recycling Coalition. He is a past president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis, Mental Health America of Greater Indianapolis, the Jewish Community Relations Council and the Hillel Center at Indiana University. You may also run into him scooping ice cream at BRICS, an ice cream store in Broad Ripple which he founded and co-owns.
David is a lifelong resident of Indianapolis and graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. Rumor has it that David always has a gold coin in his pocket…unless he’s already given it to a child.
