Chief Development Officers Adam Chavers and Mark Susemichel have been named firm principals at Indianapolis-based Browning, one of the Midwest’s leading developers of industrial, office, mixed-use, healthcare, life science and higher education projects.
Chavers and Susemichel are joining an ownership team that also includes CEO John Hirschman, Construction President Scott Hirschman and Founder Michael Browning, who have established a reputation for handling large, complicated projects with community-wide impact.
With nearly two decades of development experience in real estate development, Chavers works with Browning clients primarily in multiuse and higher education projects and has played a key role in the firm’s work with the Purdue’s Discovery Park District. The Duke University graduate joined Browning in 2014 as a senior vice president for development and was promoted to co-Chief Development Officer in 2019.
After joining Browning in 2013 as a senior vice president for development, Susemichel claimed a niche focused on large industrial and office projects and also drives joint partnerships at Airtech Park, AllPoints Midwest and AllPoints at Anson. A 25-year real estate development veteran, the Franklin College graduate who also earned a Butler University MBA currently serves as Browning’s co-Chief Development Officer.
“Browning is blessed with a remarkably deep set of current and prospective projects ranging from cutting edge e-commerce facilities, corporate headquarters, collaborative office/lab projects, mixed-use developments and boutique hotels,” CEO John Hirschman said. “Adding Adam and Mark to our ownership team helps position Browning for continued long-term stability and success.”
