Innovation Building 1 was developed by Browning as the first building of the 16 Tech Innovation District, the culmination of a vision shared by three administrations and countless stakeholders with the planning, infrastructure and capital that will shape the future of 16 Tech and Indianapolis.
In addition to developing and managing the building, Browning created a joint venture with Davis & Associates to perform the construction. Throughout the planning and construction process community inclusion and participation of diverse organizations were central in the development of Innovation 1. The building boasts meeting space, local art installation and café that are important tenant amenities while accessible to residents, neighborhood organizations and local non-profits.
The 120,000-square-foot multi-story Class A office/lab building houses the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI), Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), Indiana University School of Medicine, and Taste Cafe.
